"Champions" Hope to Raise Awareness for Cancer Study

The American Cancer Society is counting on dozens of area residents to continue spreading the word about a nationwide cancer study. Thursday afternoon, American Cancer Society Hospital Rep Liddy Hora spoke to community leaders about the need for community champions for the Cancer Prevention Study-3.  Fort Dodge and the surrounding area is part of a nationwide study seeking 300,000 volunteers to participate. The goal for Fort Dodge is 250 volunteers and Hora said they already have 121 signed up. Volunteers must be between 30 and 65 who have not been diagnosed with cancer- with the exception of two types of skin cancer. For more information and to get signed up, visit www.CPS3fortdodge.org.
