A man convicted of killing his parents with a machete on the Meskwaki Nation Settlement has been sentenced. Twenty-six-year-old Gordon Lasley Jr. was sentenced on two counts of first-degree murder on Tuesday. Lasley was found guilty last December in the killing of his parents in February of 2014 at their home on the settlement near Tama. The US Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa says Lasley received life in prison on both counts, which are to run consecutively. The federal prison system does not have parole.
