With the first winter storm of the season approaching, Webster County Emergency Management Director Scott Forbes offered some safety tips for the first snow of the season. He said plan to slow down while driving, stay home if you don’t have to travel, and have an emergency kit in your car if you do travel. Forbes also offered tips in case you do get stranded
. He said that, if the weather becomes bad enough, plows will be pulled. The current forecast has Webster County and surrounding areas in a winter storm warning from 10AM today through 0600 tomorrow. The current snow totals are expected to be upwards of 6 inches in Webster County with lesser amounts to our north and west. The timing on the storm is expected to be around noon and through the remainder of the day and the overnight.
