Iowa Central Community College is looking to add more housing to accommodate increasing enrollment at the Fort Dodge campus. Dan Kinney told the Fort Dodge Messenger recently that the school hopes to have a plan for the school board in February to build another 60-bed unit. At the start of the school year, 30 motel rooms were rented for about 60 students, who were gradually moved into student housing as spots opened up. Kinney said the school probably turned away several students because of lack of housing space. The school’s east tower was recently remodeled over three years at a cost of over $1 million.
