The Iowa DNR has reported a rare sighting of a fisher. The fisher is a predatory mammal related to weasels, otter, and mink and has not been seen in Iowa for about 150 years. A trail cam in Allamakee County caught the rare animal in November. The department said the fisher likely came from southeast Minnesota, where officials say fishers are expanding. The animal can weigh up to 12 pounds and are primarily carnivores, known for their fierceness.
