CWL, Algona Schools Discuss Whole-Grade Sharing
Two area whole-grade sharing school districts have begun discussions with a third district in hopes of reaching an agreement. Since 1984, the Corwith-Wesley and LuVerne school districts have had a whole-grade sharing system, and have begun talks with the Algona Community School District. Currently, the Corwith-Wesley and LuVerne school districts have a combined 201 students. Prior to beginning talks with Algona Schools, Corwith-Wesley-LuVerne officials had also West Hancock Schools as a possible partner. Under a proposed agreement, students Pre-K through 6th grade would attend a LuVerne school, while students 7-12 would attend in Algona.
