Can we save the Compassionate Kitchen or do we have compassion fatigue?

The Salvation Army's Compassionare Kitchen is in danger of closing. The Kitchen serves one meal a day to people who cannot feed themselves, over one hundred per day, seven percent of whom are children. The Salvation Army gets no federal, state or countyfunds. They rely entirely on the Christian community for support. Do we have compassion fatigue? Are we tired of giving, of helping? Can we do this? Should we do this?
