Carmody Unanimously Approved Council Bluffs Police Chief

The Council Bluffs city council unanimously approved the hiring of Fort Dodge's police chief to take over their department. In a 5-0 vote, the council moved to hire Tim Carmody, who has served as Fort Dodge Police Chief since September of 2010. Carmody's last day of work in Fort Dodge will be August 22 and will start in Council Bluffs on September 2. The move allows Carmody a homecoming of sorts. He was born and raised in Omaha, and served as a Captain in the Omaha Police Department before coming to Fort Dodge.
