Clarion-Goldfield, Dows Voters Approve School Consolidation

Voters in two area school district have voted to consolidate the districts. The Clarion-Goldfield and Dows Community School Districts received overwhelming support at the polls, and will become one district in the 2014 school year. Voters in the Clarion-Goldfield district approved the measure by a 505-7 vote while voters in the Dows school district passed it by a 178-30 count. The two districts have had a whole grade-sharing system since 2005. Under the consolidation, all students will attend school in Clarion.
