DSM Industrial Warehouse Blaze Under Investigation

Authorities are still investigating a fire that destroyed an industrial warehouse just north of Des Moines. The Des Moines Register reports that the Saylor Township Fire Department returned to the scene several times Sunday morning to continue cleaning up the area.Three firefighters who suffered minor injuries on Saturday were released from the hospital. Two were treated for heat stress, while another was briefly hospitalized with chest pains. Jon Davis, Polk County EMA deputy director, says several explosions at the warehouse were likely caused by 55-gallon drums of lacquer thinner. Authorities have not yet released a cause of the fire.
