FD Council Approves Wage Increases; Hires Fire Chief
The Fort Dodge city council approved raises for several non-union employees during its meeting last night. A total of 61 employees will receive a 1.25 percent raise on July 1 and a 2 percent raise on January 1. The raises, which mirror raises given to the city's AFSCME Council 61 employees, will cost the city just over $137,000 during the 2013-14 fiscal year. The money for the wage increases was included in the city's 2013-14 budget. In other business, the city council did approve Kent Hulett as the city's next fire chief with a starting salary of $74,887. Today marks his first day on the job.
