Former Fort Dodge Landfill Director Arrested; Investigation Continues

The former director of a Fort Dodge landfill is in custody in connection to alleged misconduct. On Tuesday morning, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation arrested Fort Dodge resident Mike Grell on a warrant. The charge is first-degree theft by misappropriation, a Class C felony. The charge stems from alleged misconduct while Grell was director of the North Central Iowa Regional Solid Waste Agency. According to the criminal complaint, Grell misappropriated property under ownership of the landfill in excess of $10,000. Webster County assistant attorney Ryan Baldridge says Grell is expected to appear in Webster County Magistrate Court on Wednesday.
