Fort Dodge AFES Program Seeks Funds for New Gym

The Fort Dodge Athletics for Education and Success program is seeking funds to hopefully build a new gymnasium this spring. Executive Director Charles Clayton says about $300,000 has been raised towards the $370,000 goal thus far. Started in 2004, AFES provides daily programming for area youth, including athletics, drumline and choir, arts, and education and mentoring. AFES is housed in the old hillcrest school on 3rd Street NW. Clayton says a new gym would have a long-lasting positive impact on the community
