Fort Dodge city officials are close to finishing the process of budgeting for fiscal years 2013 and 2014. On March 7, Fort Dodge City Council has a meeting scheduled to review the budget, which City Manager David Fierke says, will be balanced. The city's total budget sits at around $64 million dollars in expenses for fiscal year 2014, while the general fund sits at $10 million. Fierke says the problem of a $380,000 shortfall has been solved:
Among the biggest changes for the next budget figure to be in utilities, as the city will almost double it's water and sewer budget with the addition of Cargill and CJ Bio America.
