Fort Dodge Woman Struck by Stray Bullet in Gunfight; Two Arrested

The Fort Dodge Police Department says two men were arrested after exchanging gunfire that led to a woman being struck. Chief Tim Carmody says shortly after 4:40pm Wednesday, officers were sent to the 1100 block of 10th Avenue SW for a report of gunshots. Officers learned that a woman, 38 year-old Wanda Mosley, had been shot in the upper left shoulder while she was inside her home at 1206 10th Avenue SW. She was treated and released from UnityPoint-Trinity Regional Medical Center. Investigators learned that two males, 17 year-old Jerique Bryson and 18 year-old Malik Veal, had shot at each other behind houses in the area. They were taken into custody and both charged with a class B felony attempt to commit murder. Veal was also charged with escape from custody. Both are being held in the Webster County Jail and are expected to make initial appearances in Webster County Magistrate Court this morning.
