A Fort Dodge man was ordered held on bond following his involvement in a Tuesday morning standoff. On Wednesday, 29 year-old Kristopher Fye made his initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court, and had his bond set at $15,000 on several charges. He is facing two class D felonies of going armed with intent and possession of firearms by prohibited persons, in addition to other misdemeanor charges. Early Tuesday morning, Fye allegedly threatened a man delivering newspapers with a gun and barricaded himself in his home when he was confronted by Fort Dodge Police Officers. He surrendered to authorities about three hours later. Afterwards, Fort Dodge Police Chief Tim Carmody was thankful for the community's support:
Fye is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing and bond review on August 8.
