Officials in northern Iowa are investigating a medical helicopter crash that left three people dead. Last night at around 9:00pm, a medical helicopter crashed and burst into flames just north of Ventura in Cerro Gordo county. The helicopter was affiliated with Mercy Medical Center and was headed to Emmetsburg to pick up a patient. Authorities say nurse Shelly Lair-Langenbau and paramedic Russell Piehl were two of the three victims. The pilot has not been identified at this time.
