Week 7 of High School Football is coming your way under the lights of Friday Night. We are now in the back 1/3 of the regular season schedule and for the teams in the area that means different things. For one team like South Central Calhoun it means they are trying to remain unbeaten in week 7 and run the table in the regular season. For teams like Fort Dodge and Southeast Valley they are looking to bounce back off of losses, keep district title hopes alive and most importantly keep pace in the playoff race. St. Edmond is a team that has different outlook their goal is get off the 3 game losing skid and also to put themselves in position to finish the season strong. A winning regular season is still possible for the Gaels but they have to win this week to accomplish that. Below is the line up pf games across the Alpha Media Fort Dodge stations.

(All games are 6:45 PM pregame and 7 PM kick off and can be heard on www.yourfortdodge.com as well as over the air on the corresponding station).

92.1 FM (92 Rock) Fort Dodge at Ankeny Centennial – The Dodgers come in to this one having lost their last 2 in a row , both of those games were district games and were to ranked opponents. Last week the Dodgers turned it over 5 times and lost to Des Moines- Roosevelt 16-14 at Drake University Stadium. A win vs the #4 ranked Jaguars would erase the heart break of losing the last 2 by a combined 5 points. The Dodgers if they were to win would keep themselves in the district title race mathematically and would almost guarantee themselves a spot in the playoffs. Coach Matt Miller Says Ankeny Centennial is a great challenge but alos a great opportunity.

.

“Sunny” 99.7 FM St. Edmond (home) vs. Ridge View- The Gaels are on a 3 game losing streak and come 2-4 on the season. The last 3 game stretch has been one where the Gaels have played stiff competition , the back half of their schedule does shape up with some winnable games. A win tonight and sweep of the remaining games of the regular season would put the Gaels at 5-4 on the season. A winning season is still possible with a win tonight and would give Coach Matt Dillon’s program something to hang their hat on in just his 2nd year with the Gaels.

“Mix” 94.5 “Central Iowa Area Showcase Game” Southeast Valley hosting Garner-Hayfield-Ventura. Southeast Valley is sitting at 4-2 on the year but they are coming off their worst loss of the season last week. Spirit Lake throttled them 45-0, Southeast Valley has been dealing with injuries to some key players. They are still in the district hunt as just of those losses was a district game. Southeast valley though needs a win tonight to keep pace. Garner- Hayfield- Ventura comes in at 3-3 but are coming off a win last week 35-7 over Estherville Lincoln Central.

105.9 “The Beach” South Central Calhoun at Madrid. The Titans keep rolling along they are at 6-0 and looking to run the regular season table. The Titan Defense has been stellar giving up just 27 points in 6 games, an average of less than 5 point per game. South Central Calhoun is coming off their toughest and closest test of the season last week beating South Hamilton 21-6. Titans Coach Bryan Case says that the close game is good for his squad going forward.
