Humboldt Budget Includes Property Tax Levy, Garbage Pickup Increases
The city of Humboldt has finalized their budget for the upcoming fiscal year. The city council approved budget Monday, which includes an increase to the city's property tax levy and garbage pickup. The city's budgeted revenue will be over $12.6 million while expenses and transfers is estimated at under $13.7 million. A $1.2 million project to seal coat several streets will add $1.20 per $1,000 of assessed value to the property tax levy, and residents will see a 50-cent increase in garbage pickup. The budget also includes 3 percent raises for non-union employees and a 2 percent increase for union employees.
