Pocahontas County Authorities Make Arrest in Sex Abuse Case
An Albert City man has been arrested, accused of sexually assaulting a child in Pocahontas County. 42 year-old Matthew Gritten is charged with two Class B felony counts of second-degree sexual abuse and two Class C felony counts of lascivious acts with a child. He was arrested Friday and is being held in the Pocahontas County Jail on $120,000. The Iowa Department of Human Services contacted the Pocahontas County Sheriff's Office, alleging that the abuse occurred on January 15 to a victim under the age of 12. The date of Gritten's next court appearance is not know at this time.
