Authorities have released the name of a man killed following severe weather in eastern Iowa. The Linn County Sheriff's Office says 57-year-old Cedar Rapids resident David Lee Fry was killed Monday afternoon after a building he was in collapsed in Fairfax. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A second person, 62-year-old Cedric Brownfield was in the building with Fry. He received non-life-threatening injuries and freed himself from the structure. Authorities say strong winds in the area caused the building for Intermec Technology to collapse.
