A statement made by a Rockwell City man charged with murder will be allowed in court. On Monday, a judge ruled that a statement made by Corey Trott the day he allegedly shot and killed officer Jamie Buenting will be allowed in court. The decision came after Trott's defense wanted the statement left out of proceedings while prosecutors wanted it to remain. Trott is facing a charge of first-degree murder in Buenting's death, which occurred during a standoff in Rockwell City on September 13. His trial is scheduled to begin on September 2 in Wright County.
