Truck Accident in Fort Dodge

Three men were injured when a semitrailer and a smaller truck collided at an intersection on the northeast side of Fort Dodge Tuesday morning. The Iowa State Patrol and Firefighters rushed to the scene.

Firefighters worked for at least an hour to free up the driver of the smaller truck. A large tow truck from Mid Iowa Towing in Fort Dodge was used to stabilize the vehicle while the rescuers worked.

The most seriously injured man, Cale Charo, of West Des Moines, was treated at Trinity Regional Medical Center and was later airlifted to Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, according to Iowa State Patrol Trooper Neil Morenz. He was not listed as a patient there Tuesday afternoon.

Morenz said Javier Corona and Mario Gonzalez, both of Marshalltown, were taken to Trinity Regional Medical Center.
