Two Charged in Marshalltown Homicide Investigation
Two Marshalltown men have been charged in the slaying of a man in Marshalltown. Officials say 30-year-old Jeremy Gartin is charged with first-degree murder and carrying a concealed weapon. Meanwhile 55 year-old Max Nelson Jr. is charged with theft, abuse of a corpse and being an accessory. Both men were initially detained as material witnesses. Police Chief Mike Tupper says the slain man hasn't been positively identified. The cause of his death hasn't been disclosed. Nelson and Gartin remain in custody.
