Webster County Attorney Won't Seek Election in November

Webster County’s prosecuting attorney has announced that she will not be seeking office in November’s general election. The Fort Dodge Messenger reports that Cori Coleman, who has served as Webster County Attorney since June, will withdraw her name from the ballot. Coleman reportedly said in an email statement that she and her family plan to move to Des Moines to be closer to family. Coleman’s first assistant Jennifer Benson says she will seek the Democratic nomination on November’s ballot. The Webster County democrats would need to nominate Benson during a county convention.
