A shots fired incident on Sunday sent one Fort Dodge teenager to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
On Sunday afternoon just before 2:00PM, officers with the Fort Dodge Police Department were dispatched to the area of 10th Ave. SW and 13th St. SW in reference to 3 to 4 gun shots being called in by a citizen.
Approximately 3 minutes later dispatch was notified that 19-year-old Marquez Clayton, of Fort Dodge, was in route to the hospital with a gunshot wound.
Officers responded to both the area of the shooting and to Trinity Regional Hospital. Information and evidence indicate that Mr. Clayton and an uninjured passenger were driving in the 1200 block of 10th Ave. SW when an unknown subject fired at their vehicle. Officers were able to locate what is believed to be the primary crime scene as well as the victim vehicle involved in the shooting.
Clayton was treated and released from Trinity Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
According to Fort Dodge Police Chief Tim Carmody, "We are working on very limited information and need the assistance of those who may have seen or heard anything."
