Monday night, Mayor Matt Bemrich gave his city address at City Hall in Fort Dodge. Bemrich focused on a number of topics including economic development and fixing roads and infrastructure and started the speech, noting the additions to the new Ag Park with Cargill and CJ America.
Of the new Ag Park, Bemrich said, "As your mayor, I could not have been happier to have worked with the county, city staff and the Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance on this amazing project."
Bemrich also talked about the growth of the city, particularly with the downtown area. "We continue to see redevelopment which is key to the success of our community. Our downtown is coming back, but it will take the hard work and strong commitments from the city and the private sector to reach our ultimate goals."
Bemrich also mentioned that the city increased the citizen engagement through the use of technology, citing sites such as Facebook and Twitter where people can ask questions, find out about programs, or follow the city's press releases.
