A car crash shortly before noon on Saturday morning in Fort Dodge has sent one juvenile to the hospital.
According to the Fort Dodge Police Department, a 2004 Chevrolet Truck, driven by Nathaniel Henricks of Fort Dodge, was traveling north on 15th street, when he ran a red light and struck a 2005 Dodge Truck, driven by Alexander Mackay of Cedar Falls, which was traveling east on 6th Avenue North.
Police say that just before the accident, a truck near Henricks was goading him to race. That vehicle was never found. The juvenile sent to the hospital was in Henricks's vehicle and was taken by ambulance to Trinity Regional Medical Center. The juvenile's name has not been released and the extent of her injuries are unknown at this point. No other injuries were reported.
Henricks was cited for numerous charges including failure to obey traffic control devices, reckless driving, and driving without a license.
A stop light at the intersection was severely damaged and crews continued to work well after the accident to get it replaced and back into working condition.
