A Fort Dodge woman who conspired to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine was sentenced on Friday, February 3rd, to 6 years in federal prison.
29-year-old Rachel Clavey, from Fort Dodge, received the prison term after an October 18, 2011, guilty plea to one count of conspiracy to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine and one count of possession or aiding and abetting another in the possession of 5 grams or more of pure methamphetamine.
At the guilty plea, Clavey admitted that from January 2010 through June 2011 she participated in the manufacture and distribution of more than 50 grams of pure methamphetamine in the Webster City, and Fort Dodge area. Clavey also admitted that on March 2, 2010, she possessed, or aided and abetted another in the possession of, 5 grams or more of pure methamphetamine. Also, on March 2, 2010, law enforcement executed a search warrant at a residence occupied by Clavey and co-conspirator Matthew Mueller, and seized 18 grams of pure methamphetamine and a number of items consistent with the manufacture of methamphetamine.
Clavey was sentenced to 72 months’ imprisonment. She must also serve a 5-year term of supervised release after the prison term. There is no parole in the federal system.
Clavey is being held in the United States Marshal’s custody until she can be transported to a federal prison.
