A Fort Dodge City Councilman has pulled his request to name a street after his family from the city council agenda.

That happened during Monday night's city council meeting. Mark Taylor apologized for what he called "the mess" he made by being ignorant of politics. He added that he didn't want to be a distraction.

Taylor and his brother had sent a letter to the council requesting that a portion of 5th Street Northwest from Hawkeye Avenue to a dead end be named Taylor Place.
