Dayton Boil Order Lifted

Residents of Dayton in Webster County can safely drink the water again.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resource says a boil order issued nearly three weeks ago has been lifted after samples can back OK.

Dayton lost power on June 18th, causing a loss of water pressure. Routine repairs on the city's water tower had already made it tough to maintain consistent water pressure. When the pressure drops, the possibility increases for contaminants to enter the system.

Officials say repairs to the water tower are complete and stable water pressure has been restored.
