The Drought Continues despite Rain
The much needed rain came and went fast Wednesday night as a severe thunderstorm warning for the Fort Dodge area brought high winds, rain with some small hail. It moved in and moved out in less than a hour.
Fort Dodge got less than three-quarters of an inch, Farnhamville got just under an inch and Rockwell City seven tenths of an inch. There was some minor storm damage as winds reached over 60 miles an hour. Thursday will bring cooler temps with a high of 90, but much less humidity.
No injuries have been reported, including in Marshalltown, where thousands of RAGBRAI bicyclists stopped for the night.
