Chase Suspect being Held in Jail

The man who led Fort Dodge Police on a high speed chase in Webster County early Sunday continues to be held in jail.

24-year-old Camdan Cease of Trussville, Alabama is accused of using his pickup to ram a car at the intersection of 12th Street and 1st Avenue South at about 2Am Sunday.  The car was being driven by 21-year-old Levi Moore of Fort Dodge.  The impact of the ramming caused a passenger in Moore's car to be thrown through the front window.   24-year-old Jeremy Trost refused treatment.

The incident was seen by Fort Dodge Police Officer Merdick Sorenson who gave chase. The 17 minute pursuit went through downtown Fort Dodge and extended into rural Webster County.  Police Chief Tim Carmody says it reached speeds in excess of 100 miles an hour.

Cease had even pulled off into cornfields during the chase and police surrounded the area and when they finally caught Cease he had gotten out of his pickup and was arrested.

Cease continues to be held in the Webster County Jail under $19,000 bond charged with numerous felonies.
