WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) _ A former assistant director of ticket operations has been given probation and ordered to pay restitution for stealing from the University of Northern Iowa.
The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports that 44-year-old John Gogola, of Cedar Falls, was sentenced on Monday for taking more than $18,000 from UNItix between January 2009 and August 2010. He had pleaded guilty to a single count of theft.
Judge Andrea Dyer sentenced Gogola to 10 years in prison but suspended the sentence to two to five years of probation.
Gogola must pay $18,000 in restitution and reimburse the state $27,000 for investigation and auditing expenses.
