Two Boone Men Attacked in Gas Stop Altercation

(AP) - Two Boone men reportedly were attacked Monday at a Des Moines gas station when one tried to intervene in an altercation.

According to Des Moines police, a car with two men and two women pulled into the parking lot at Quik Trip, 1215 Sixth Ave., about 4:15 a.m. and the female suspects got into an argument with Natasha Young, 22, and Marissa Townsley, 21.

The male suspects began to approach Young’s and Townsley’s car with a golf club when a bystander in the parking lot tried to intervene and was attacked by the suspect with the golf club, police said. The other male suspect reportedly struck the bystander in the back of the head.

Another man tried to stop the assault and also was struck in the back of the head by a suspect, who had armed himself with a crowbar, police said. The suspects then fled, and the victims were taken to a hospital by ambulance.

No charges have been filed, but the clerk in the convenience store said a camera may have captured the incident.
