Thursday afternoon, the Fort Dodge Police Department were dispatched to 214 2nd St. NW to investigate the vandalism of a motor home. Officers arrived to find damage to a beige Yellowstone brand Country Club model mobile home.

The damage included dark colored graffiti was sprayed onto three sides of the vehicle. The graffiti included graphic statements-including racial epithets directed toward the owner of the vehicle or residents of the house who are African American.

As a result of the language used, the Fort Dodge Police Department is treating this incident as a hate/bias crime.

Witness statement indicate that the damage was most likely done between midnight and 6:30 A.M. Thursday morning.
