SIOUX CITY, Iowa (AP) _ A 15-year-old Iowa girl died after she was thrown out of the bed of the pickup truck she was riding in.
The Union County Sheriff's Department say that the Sioux City girl died Saturday after an accident in Dakota Dunes, South Dakota.
Authorities say the girl was riding in the back of the Chevrolet truck and talking to the driver through a window when the accident happened. The truck hit a curb and left the road, and the impact sent the 15-year-old flying.
The girl thrown from the truck suffered fatal injuries. The driver and two passengers riding inside the truck's cab were not hurt.
