BOONE, Iowa (AP) _ A man has been killed in a collision with a passing train near the central Iowa city of Boone.

The accident occurred just after 8 p.m. Monday about two miles east of town.

Iowa State Patrol Trooper Michael Clyde says the driver maneuvered his vehicle around traffic barriers as the train passed through. The car was dragged a few
thousand feet after it hit the side of the train.

The driver was alone in his car. Clyde says the man's name won't be released until his family has been notified about his death.
