AMES, Iowa (AP) _ Iowa State basketball player Bubu Palo has been released from jail after being charged with sexually abusing a woman he drove home earlier this year.
The 21-year-old reserve point guard and another man, Spencer Cruise, are charged with second-degree sexual abuse. A judge granted Palo pre-trial release and issued a no-contact order with the alleged victim during a court appearance.
A message for his attorney, Matt Boles, wasn't returned on Friday.
The criminal complaint says the men offered to give a woman a ride home on May 18 but instead drove her to a home owned by Cruise's family and `"committed a sex act by force against the victim's will.''
Cruise, who appeared in court with his attorney, remained in jail on $25,000 bond.
