MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (AP) _ Three men charged in the shooting of a Marshalltown man who later died have been sentenced to prison.
Benjamin Benda was shot in the head at an apartment in February. He died the next day at an Iowa City hospital.
Steven Etzen, Shawn Doehler and Thomas Vaughn were originally charged with first-degree murder in Benda's death. Sources say all three were sentenced on Monday in Marshall County District Court.
Etzen was sentenced to 50 years in prison after pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. Doehler pleaded guilty to going armed with intent and first-degree robbery and was sentenced to a total of 30 years. Vaughn was given 10 years after pleaded guilty to a conspiracy charge.
