GARWIN, Iowa (AP) _ Authorities have identified a man found dead inside a burning central Iowa house.

The Tama County Sheriff's Office says that the body of 53-year-old John Roberts was found in the Garwin house on Tuesday.

Fire investigators say the fire broke out at the home just after 5 a.m. Tuesday.

Fire crews were able to extinguish the flames and found Roberts in the house. He was declared dead by the Tama County Medical Examiner.

The Iowa State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating to determine what caused the fire.
