There was an attempted robbery this morning at the McDonalds on Avenue M West in Fort Dodge.  At approximately 3:30am, a male wearing a mask and armed with a knife demanded money from night manager Christopher Gerrard.  Gerrard began yelling for help, and witnesses responded.  The man, and a second male both fled the scene without  the money.  Information from witnesses led to the arrest of two suspects: 21 year old Colby Lee Kirby and David Michael Van Horn, both of Fort Dodge.  Each was charged with robbery in the first degree, which is a Class B Felony.  Detectives are continuing their investigation.  Anyone with any additional information should call the Fort Dodge Police Department at 573-14-26.
