Even though construction work has already begun on 24 new townhomes, Webster County and Fort Dodge officials gathered yesterday afternoon for a brief groundbreaking ceremony on the city's west side. The 24 townhomes are being built in 12 duplex buildings and are originally being built to rent. Realtor Jim Kesterson, one of the leading investors of the project, says individual homes are valued in the $125,000 range. Eldon Rossow, President of nearby MER Engineering and owner of the property, says things materialized quickly earlier this fall:
Kesterson says the project is "truly a Fort Dodge project", as all investors and construction workers are local. At least half of the townhomes are expected to be complete next spring.
