The Humboldt Community School District has formally asked the Iowa House of Representatives to act on legislation passed previously by the Senate. On Monday, the Humboldt Community School Board passed a resolution asking both the Iowa House and Governor Terry Brandstad to support a 4% allowable growth measure. A 4% increase in school funding was passed previously by the Senate, but would need approval in the House as well. Allowable growth is the amount of money school districts are allowed to spend on each student. Humboldt Superintendent Greg Darling says a 4% increase would equate to about $270,000.
