Governor Terry Branstad and Lt. Governor Kim Reynolds were in town last night to address the Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance. Branstad touted Fort Dodge as a state leader in economic development, saying of the $5.6 billion dollars in state-wide capital investments in the past two years, Fort Dodge has been responsible for $600 million of that investment. Branstad also praised the Growth Alliance's proactive approach in addressing current needs
In addition, Branstad called for property tax relief and touted the Healthy Iowa initiative, which has helped the state become the ninth healthiest state in the union. Reynolds discussed education reform proposals, including raising the minimum salary for teachers.
