Fort Dodge Receives $10,000 DNR Fine
The Iowa Department of Natural resources announced the imposing of a fine against the city of Fort Dodge yesterday. DNR officials announced a $10,000 penalty to the city for not having a backup generator at the water plant and some of the wells. In a statement, state officials say the city has put customers and the water supply at risk by not having a backup generator. The state imposed a September 30th deadline for the installation of the system, however city officials say it's currently being installed at the water plant and will be ready by July 1. In addition, the city plans on appealing the fine.
