The Iowa State Patrol says a Fort Dodge woman was killed when her car collided with a train last night. Lt Kelly Hindman says 74 year-old Sheryl Ann Parks was driving northbound on Hayes Avenue when she failed to yield the right of way and collided with a Union Pacific locomotive at a railroad crossing at around 8:00pm. Hindman said the railroad crossing just off County Road D20 has cross buck warning signs, but no mechanized signaling devices. Parks was pronounced dead at the scene. The State Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
