An officer with the Eagle Grove Police Department has resigned his position amid a federal investigation. Officer Jon Bailey turned in his resignation Wednesday morning, a day after federal investigators served search warrants at his Belmond home. Eagle Grove city administrator Mike Boyd said Bailey was placed on administrative leave from the police department when the department was notified of the investigation on Tuesday. The nature of the investigation is unknown. A spokesman with the U.S. Attorney's Office was unable to comment on the investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.
