Five FD Volunteers to be Recongized Monday

The city of Fort Dodge will recognize five special volunteers during Monday's council meeting. Mayor Matt Bemrich will recognize five Foster grandparents with "Five over 55" award, which are being presented in conjunction with National Senior Corps Week. Vera Cerwick and Irma Machovec will receive the People to Purpose Award, given to volunteers with at least two years of service through the 55+ Volunteer Foster Grandparent program. Lois Harvey, who has logged over 10,000 volunteer hours for St Edmond teacher Danielle Rathermel, will receive the Sharing Today, Shaping Tomorrow Award. Mary Casey, a Grandma at Duncombe Elementary, will receive the Rookie of the Year Award. And Marvel McCormack will receive the Hall of Fame Award, given to a volunteer with a minimum of 8 years of service.
