A man accused of shooting at a Sioux City police officer was captured over the weekend. 21 year-old Jamal Dean had been at large since an April 29 incident, when officer Kevin McCormick stopped a car that Dean was a passenger in. Dean stepped out of the vehicle and fired a shotgun at McCormick, striking him in the head. McCormick was treated and released from a Sioux City hospital following the incident. On Saturday, Dean was arrested by U.S.. Marshals in Riviera, TX, reportedly heading towards the Mexico border. Dean is being held on attempted murder charges in connection with the shooting.
